Laptop down - shifting to Kububtu on my unused desktop!

Think and research very carefully before you buy HP laptops!

There's an entire series for which HP has disowned from accepting the horrifying flaws inherent in them.

My laptop is just one among so many that faced the problem of overheating - this resulted in problems that require repeated fixes and will continue after your warranty period when the cost will be completely borne by you!

See the following thread at the HP forum:

What is wrong with our system?

Why are we satisfied if the Chief Minister, his Dpty, or even the Prime Minister resigns?

They'll be replaced by someone else who will do the same thing!

Have you ever thought about why are we stuck with the same Police system that was left behind by the British? The talk of police reform has been going on for so many years but because politicians want to continue controlling them, this will never happen!
On the other hand, if Manmohan Singh wanted, he could change the law so that, for example, all Government Employees are actually responsible and could lose their jobs if they are not so.
But he is just like us and does not see any passion in the masses for a change!

It's not just about the terrorists attacking. We are completely submerged in complacency. Yes we may want to blame someone but then we want to get back to our usual life.

Unless you want the same things - the same system, to continue and pass on to our children, we have to change it. Because a system that is corrupt is flawed. We already know that. So why are we not improving this system right away instead of building on it?

And changing the system means we have to have the right people in Government.
And for that either we have to convince the existing government or vote in a government that is willing to unite India instead of dividing us.
We shouldnt be satisfied with a manifesto promising 24hrs power or a new park or reservation! We want a manifesto promising that the system will be changed!

Don't look around expecting someone else to do this. Each and every one of us have to participate in changing our country with action:

1) Always ensure you vote.
2) Never be a part of corruption.
3) Use RTI to expose corruption.

More ideas and actions need to follow...

My P990 - stolen on a bus

Yeah... stolen. In 2 years here at Mumbai, never had an experience like this. And when it finally came, it was my Rs.30k phone.

mebbe it was meant to be. So no more incredible pics...
Coincidentally, at least 5 other fellows office mates had their phones stolen from the same bus in the last 2 months. We intend to give a combined plea at the Police station. For now, Ive already blocked and got a new sim with the same number but Im using a borrowed cell. I dont think i can ever have the heart to buy another cell after losing one worth so much...

Leave you with a few thots - pls dont laff (do it behind my back if u wish!).

Sighhhh! Sure you werent perfect. I took all the wonderful pluses for granted! The photos. The huge data storage. The wifi and excellent browsing and touchscreen!!!!
But I loved thee almost as much as my older P800. you survived even a swim in the oceans just a month after you were mine... all for this?

Curse upon thee o thief
who thinks nothing
of living off another.
Like fleas and louse
you parasites
Oh if but once
in my grasp you fell...
Ahimsa to the wind I'd throw!
And it would not suffice
Even A week of mopping
To clear ur splatter'd remains
Upon the dirtied streets

I wonder now about my pleas
To the heavens sent...
Maybe they were too harsh?
Public humiliation to start off.
Then Lightning to strike
And yet you survive
only to be burnt alive before being
Shot and trampled in the end...
But on the other hand
it wasnt too much to ask?

Update June-2008
We didn't manage to have the time to go and give a group complaint.
But a couple of my mates who did go were met by apathy and rudeness at the police station. The police refused to file an FIR (this would force them to take some action and follow up) but only made a note in their complaint book (basically they dont have to do anything about it).
I'm now using a spare phone on my brother...

Happiness never felt this good!

Marine Drive in Ernakulam

Visions from a train

(Trivandrum to Ernakulam)

It is finished...

...this pain is over.

It has made me older. It has made me stronger.

I have the courage.
